PEI Teams Back in Action for Showcase Weekend

Both the Charlottetown Knights and Kensington Wild will be back in action playing games with the NB Teams after Covid restrictions were relaxed this week in PEI.  The annoucement from the Chief Public Health Office in PEI, Tuesday February 8th permits games to be played starting Thursday February 17th. "This is great news for the league and just in time for PEI teams to be able to participate in the League Showcase, February 19th and 20th at the Willie O'Ree Arena in Fredericton", stated Barry Thompson, League President.

The League had essentially been shutdown since mid-December with limited icetime and practices.  The four New Brunswick teams were able to resume play February 5th after their restrictions were eased earlier that week.

As a result of the pause in play the League has extended its regular season to the weekend of March 20th afterwhich playoffs will begin in both NB and PEI.
