The Moncton Flyers defeated the Charlottetown Knights 6 - 3 in the first game of the NB/PEI Showcase weekend in Summerside on Saturday.

The Flyers got goals from team rookies Jacob Pineau, Caleb Cyr, Dami Seo, and Patrick Baxter.  Austin Sanchez and Olivier O'Brien also scored.  

Simon Cormier stopped 38 shots to record the win in goal.

The Moncton Flyers will participate in the first of two league showcase events this weekend in Summerside.  On Saturday, the Flyers will meet the Charlottetown Knights in a 10 am start at Credit Union Place.  On Sunday, the Flyers take on the Kensington Wild in a 4 pm start.  

The Flyers started the regular season last weekend with a win and an overtime loss.
