2025 Major U18 Interlock Showcase - October 24-26

The NBPEI U18 and NS U18 Major Hockey Leagues have joined together again this season to hold a single interlocking league showcase. The showcase will be held at Credit Union Place in Summerside, PEI and involve six teams from the NS U18 Major Hockey League and the six NBPEI Major U18 Teams. Both the Halifax Macs and Steele Subaru teams of the NSU18MHL will not be part of this years' showcase but will have interlocking league games against NBPEI teams in Amherst the first weekend of December.  The 2025 showcase will see all NBPEI teams playing two games each against NS U18 Major teams over the three day event. Games will be regulation games and count toward league standings.

The showcase provides an opportunity for scouts in the region to get look at players early in the season and also allow teams from both leagues to see their level of compete against each other before heading into the Monctonian, in mid November.  

The showcase also marks the start of the  "Hockey Fights Cancer" campaign for both leagues for the 2025-26 season.  The campaign will be from the Showcase weekend to the first week of December.  All funds raised will be presented to the Cancer Society during the IceJam Tournament in Halfax in early January. 

Showcase games start Friday, October 24th with the Moncto Flyers hosting Cole Harbour Hunters at 3:30 pm and finish up with Charlottetown Island Coastal Knights hosting the Cape Breton West Islanders at 11:00 am on Sunday October 26th. 2025-26 Season Kicks Off Friday, September 19th

After a successful Jamboree weekend in Moncton September 6th and 7th the NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League kicks off the 2025-26 season Friday September 19th, with the Saint John Vitos hosting the Kensington Wild, 8 pm at the QPlex in Saint John and the Northern Moose travelling to Charlottetown to play the Knights at 7 pm at Bell Aliant Center.  Saturday, Saint John will be on the road in Moncton to play the Flyers 7:30 pm at the Greenfoot Energy 4-Plex. The weekend wraps up Sunday afternoon with the Northern Moose playing the Fredericton Caps at 2 pm at the Willie O'Ree. 

Teams will play a 38 game schedule for the 2025-26 season including 3 interlocking games each with the Nova Scotia U18 Major League.  The Interlocking games will take place during the NBPEI - NS showcase the weekend of October 24th - 26th at Credit Union Place in Summerside PEI and Dec 5th - 7th at the Amherst Stadium in Amherst, NS.  In addition to regular season play, all teams will be participating in both the Monctonian Hockey Tournament, November 13th- 16th in Moncton, NB and the IceJam Tournament , January 7th - 11th in Bedford, NS

NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League Prepares for 2025-26 Season

The NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League held its annual spring meeting May 24, 2025 in Moncton in preparation for the 2025-26 season. Highlights from the meeting include the date for the league Jamboree in Moncton, September 6th and 7th, Interlocking League Showcase with the NS U18 Major Hockey League, October 24th-26th at Credit Union Place in Summersdie PEI and a standardize playoff format of best-of-seven for both NB and PEI playoff series.

The NBPEI Major U18 League is set to start regular season play September 19th.  League schedule is expect to be posted mid summer.

Moncton Flyers win the 2025 Atlantics

The Moncton Flyers capped off a successful weekend with a 5 - 3 victory over the Kensington Wild at the 2025 U18 Major AAA Atlantics, April 2nd - 6th at the Credit Union Centre in Kensington. The Flyers ended the round robin play with a first place finish followed by the Host Kensington Wild.  Moncton will now represent the Atlantic Region at the upcomingTelus Championships in Chilliwack BC, April 21st - 26th.

The NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League would like to congratulate the Flyers on the Atlantics win and wish them all success and the notionals.

NBPEI Major U18 Teams Set for Atlantics

The 2025 U18AAA Major Atlantics will be hosted by the Kensington Wild, April 2nd to 6th at Credit Union Centre in Kensington PEI. With the event being held in PEI the NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League will have representation from both the Island Major U18 teams as well as the New Brunswick Major U18 Champions.  The Charlottetown Knights will represent as Team PEI and the Prince Edward Island Major U18 Provincial Champion Kensington Wild will be the Host Team.

The Moncton Flyers are returning to the Atlantics as Team NB after beating the Fredericton Caps 4 - 1 in games in the New Brunswick Major U18 Provincial Championship.  Nova Scotia's representative will be the Halifax Macs coming off a 3-2 best of 5 series win over the Weeks Majors. 

The first game of the Atlantics Championship sees Team PEI taking the tournament Hosts Wednesday at 7:30 pm. Gametimes, Thursday through Saturday are 12:30 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm with the Gold Medal game is scheduled for Sunday April 6th.  More details on the Atlantics can be found at:   u18-male.atlanticaaahockey.ca

NBPEI Major U18 League Awards

The NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League announced its League Awards with the conclusion of the 2024-25 regular season on March 2nd.  The Fredericton Caps are the 2024-25 League Champions.  Both the Fredericton Caps and Moncton Flyers ended up tied with 55 points after 37 games, however the Caps won four games of seven in head to head play securing the league title.
