NBPEI Major U18 "End of Season" Showcase

The NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League will be holding its “end of regular season” showcase February 11th and 12th 2023 at the qplex in Quispamsis, NB hosted by the Saint John Vito’s .

 

This year marks the third year for League Showcases hosted by Teams throughout the league.  This showcase, at the end of the regular season, will provide an opportunity for scouts from the Maritime Hockey League, QMJHL, College and University to see how players have developed throughout the season. 

 

The NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League has gained a reputation for elite level of hockey in Atlantic Canada. These Showcases also provide an opportunity to increase the visibility of the league.

 

All teams will play two regular season games over the weekend which count toward the regular season schedule.  As part of the Showcase a Saint Vito's Alumni game will be held prior to the Saturday evening game.

Flyers win the 2023 IceJam

The NBPEI Major U18 Hockey League want to congratulate the Moncton Flyers on winning the 2023 IceJam Tournament.  Both finalists, the Charlottetown Knights and Flyers of the NBPEI Major U18 League are no starngers to each other. Great job by both teams and a good showing from all the NBPEI Teams through weekend with three teams of the six team league making the final eight.  

The NBPEI Major U18 League would like to recognize the commitment and dedication of players, coaches, trainers, management and parents to their respective teams.

Charlottetown Knights Win Monctonian

NBPEI Major U18 Teams ha a successful weekend at the 41st Annual Monctonian Challenge.  Five of the six NBPEI teams made the playoff round with three NBPEI teams making the final four.  Both semifinal games went to overtime.  Charlottetown and Fredericton advanced to the final with Charlottetown taking the final by a 4-3 score.

The NBPEI Major U18 League would like to congratulate the Charlottetown Knights on winning the Monctonian challenge and recognize the commitment and dedication of Coaches, Trainers and Team Management.

NBPEI Major U18 Teams Gearing up for Monctonian

All six NBPEI Major U18 teams are gearing up for the 41st Monctonian Hockey Tournament hosted by the Moncton Flyers, November 17th to 20th at the Superior Propane Centre.  Tournament games start for the Major U18 Division at 12:15 pm on the 17th with the Championship game going at 3:00 pm on Sunday the 20th.

In addition to tournament games, players from the NBPEI Major U18 teams will be taking part in diversity, equity and inclusion sessions from Bradley Sheppard of Sheppard Diversity Training.  Sheppard, a Nova Scotia native, is the owner of Sheppard Diversity Training, a service which specializes in helping to combat anti black racism and systematic racism.  He has spent close to 20 years helping people across multiple sectors and the last 10 years learning and teaching on issues such as equity, inclusion, race, class, privilege, unconscious bias and systematic awareness.  The sessions are designed to create more awareness and understanding surrounding diversity and inclusion both on and off the ice.

League Showcase Cancelled

Tough start to the NBPEI Major U18 League.  Damage and power outages caused by the impact of Hurricane Fiona have resulted in the NBPEI Major U18 Showcase to be cancelled. It is hoped that the showcase will be rescheduled later in the season. Some games are scheduled in New Brunswick for this coming weekend.  The league schedule will be up to date with upcoming games.

Hurricane Fiona Postpones Season Openers

With hurricane Fiona arriving in Atlantic Canada over the weekend a number of games have been postponed.  Friday's Moose-Vito's game, Saturday's Knights-Moose game and Sunday's Wild-Flyers, Knights-Caps games have all been postponed.  The league schedule will be updated if additional postponements are announced.
